We're delivering better schools and more teachers to give our kids the world class education they deserve, right where they live.
The Minns Labor Government is building more classrooms, hiring more teachers and lifting student outcomes across NSW.
As a part of this dedication to education:
WE'RE BUILDING A NEW PUBLIC PRESCHOOL FOR GUILDFORD WEST
A new co-located public preschool is being built at Guildford West Public School.
This public preschool will help bring down costs for families, improve access to early education and give our kids the best start in life.
We have also supported families with the largest ever increase of preschool fee relief for parents.
This new public preschool is one of six that the NSW Labor Government is delivering to the Granville Electorate as a part of its commitment to build 100 public preschools statewide. The sites in the Granville Electorate are all co-located with local public primary schools, making it easy and convenient for families to coordinate. The locations include:
- Blaxcell Street Public School
- Granville East Public School
- Granville South Public School
- Guildford Public School
- Guildford West Public School
- Sherwood Grange Public School
MORE TEACHERS FOR OUR CHILDREN
Because of the former Liberal National Government’s unfair wages cap and neglect of public education, teacher vacancies reached an all-time high, resulting in 10,000 merged and cancelled classes across NSW every day.
When the Minns Labor Government was elected one of our priorities was to rebuild our education system. Just in the last two and a half years we’ve:
-
Delivered the largest pay rise in a generation to all of NSW’s public school teachers.
-
Reduced teacher vacancies across the NSW by 61 per cent, meaning our kids are spending more time learning in class and receiving more one-on-one attention from their teachers; and
-
Nearly halved the number of merged and cancelled classes by getting more teachers into the classroom.
Rebuilding our education system takes time but we are committed to getting the job done.
