The global Cost of Living crisis is hurting us all. The NSW Government is here to help. Below is a list of Government programs and subsidies aimed at lightening the load of everyday living. There are a variety of programs available.

Toll Rebate

Eligible motorists that spend more than $60 a week on tolls can claim a rebate up to $340 a week per toll tag.

Energy Bill Relief

Eligible households and small businesses can receive up to $500 off their electricity bills.

First Home Buyers Relief

First home buyers either pay no stamp duty or a reduced rate when buying a home worth up to $1 million.

ENERGY

Gas Bill Relief

Eligible households can receive $121 off their gas bills each year.

Senior Energy Rebate

Eligible seniors can receive $200 off their electricity bill each year.

Family Energy Rebate

Eligible families with dependent children can receive $180 off their electricity bill.

Low Income Household Rebate

Eligible concession cardholders can receive $285 off their electricity bill each year for on-market households.

Energy Bill Payment Assistance

Help for those who are struggling to pay their energy bill because of short-term financial hardship, crisis or emergency.

Household Energy Saving Upgrades

Help for those wanting to upgrade their water system, lighting, air-cons and other appliances to more energy efficient devices.

TRANSPORT

Apprentice Vehicle Rego Rebate

First or second year apprentices can apply for a rebate to help with the costs of registering their vehicle.

Taxi Subsidy Scheme

Eligible people with a permanent disability who are unable to use public transport can receive 50% off their taxi fare.

Public Transport Concenssions 

Public transport concession fares are available to Students, Apprentices, Pensioners, Seniors, Veterans and more.

HEALTH

Free Glasses

The NSW Spectacles Program offers financially disadvantaged residents can receive free glasses and vision aids.

Free Ambulance Fee

Eligible people can claim an exemption from paying an ambulance fee. This includes Pensioners Veterans and more.

Fertility Treatment Rebate

Women who have received an eligible fertility treatment from 1 October 2022 can claim a $2,000 rebate.

SENIORS

Seniors Card

Residents aged 60 or over, can apply for a free Seniors Card which gives you discounts at thousands of businesses.

Seniors Opal Card

Residents aged 60 or over can access a Seniors Opal Card which gives you unlimited travel for $2.50.

Pensioner Council Rate Rebates

Pensioners can get $250 off their council rates, $87.50 off water rates and $87.50 off sewage rates.

Senior Discount on National Parks

Seniors can get a 20% discount on the price of National Park annual passes.

Pensioners Free Will Preparation

Pensioners can access a free Will preparation service.

Pensioner Vehicle Rego Concession

Pensioners are eligible for concessions on their vehicle registration costs.

EDUCATION AND SPORT

Childcare Fee Relief

The Start Strong program provides relief to families with kids in Early Childhood Education and Care services. Parents can save up to $2,110 a year in childcare fees.

Active Kids Voucher

Families receiving the Family Tax Benefit can receive two $50 vouchers a year to register in sporting and creative activities with registered providers.
